Burnt ends Pinto beans Mac and Cheese Not pictured was the bomb ass turkey that didn't make the 10 minute ride back from 26th street to my lunch spot because it is too good and I am too gluttonous. In and out of the establishment in less than 5 minutes and that is because I was being chatty. If I had a last meal to pick- it would be the brisket from here. It is that good imo. This time did not disappoint! Flavorful Juicy Crusty Perfect. Mac and Cheese was solid- cheesy- fresh. Good. But it's just good Mac and cheese - to me it's just something to sop up the extra calories Pintos are super meaty, salty but no over the top salty. Again good - but just there to make the meat taste better. Turkey was super juicy, warm, nice light crust on the skin. But again- the brisket is one of my favorite things to eat. And I got to deliver a painting I made for them- for all of the food they gave away during the blizzard - and for being a staple in the community. Not a huge fan of their sauces- and I normally love me some saucy stuff. But here keep that sauce off my meat. It's better au natural. The way the BBQ Gods intended. https://www.art-l-lucian.com/

Federal Hill Smokehouse: Where Meat Dreams Come True Each weekend my wife and I go on a quest to find the perfect lunch let me tell you, friends, I have seen the smoky mountaintop, and its name is Federal Hill Smokehouse. This is not just a great eatery; it's a temple of smoked meats, where brisket is like a gift from the gods, pulled pork preaches perfection, and mac 'n' cheese, well I'll get to that in a minute... Having been there before, we knew what we were getting into. The brisket sandwich? Seasoned so well and cooked to the perfect tenderness it doesn't need BBQ sauce. That's right - this brisket was so confident in its smokey swagger, it said, "Keep your sauce, I'm already perfect." And honestly? It was. As always, my wife ordered the pulled pork, which was so tender and flavorful it practically melted in her mouth. She took one bite, looked at me, and said, "It might be cold outside, but it's warm in my heart." She's a woman who knows what she likes, and Federal Hill always hits the spot. The sides, though? Oh, the sides. That macaroni and cheese? Creamy and dreamy. The pinto beans with chunks of brisket? Smoky, savory, and probably better than your grandma's. The wife reported the potato salad was creamy and delicious as well. You could easily order them all, but there's only so much happiness one person can handle in a single meal. As we were approaching the front of the line, we saw the sign on the wall advertising the deep-fried brisket mac 'n' cheese balls. I've seen them posted on their social media pages in the past, but up to this point, I had only dreamed about trying them. I don't know who thought, "Let's deep fry a breaded ball of brisket and mac 'n' cheese," but they deserve a statue in their honor. These baseball sized nuggets of joy were crispy on the outside, cheesy and meaty on the inside and fried to perfection. The place was busy (lets face it, they are always busy), but the service is fast and friendly and the food has been consistently great from day one. If you haven't been to Federal Hill Smokehouse yet, what are you waiting for? An engraved invitation? Stop reading this review and go add it into your iCal for Monday. Get there early so you have full access to the entire menu (I didn't even get a chance to talk about the smoked turkey...) Just be warned: once you taste the meats from Federal Hill, you'll never look at barbecue the same way again. Five smoked-out, meat-sweat-inducing stars. Bravo.

This is five star barbecue. And it's been that way for more than five years. Always try to weigh in with a new review here every couple of years, and Ryan and crew continue to knock it out of the park. stop by in late January after realizing they were doing an early version of their St. Patrick's Day smoked homemade pastrami brisket Rueben sandwich. OMG. I even had to pick up a half a pound of extra pastrami to make my own damn sandwich later on.Ryans barbecue pastrami maybe some of the best I've ever had, even better than Katz deli in New York. This is the one restaurant in the area that can compete with anything I've ever eaten at in the world.

We were visiting Erie, Pennsylvania to see my boyfriend's nephew play in a basketball tournament. I googled smokehouse and Federal Hill had really good reviews. Interestingly the store hours closed at 3pm or whenever they sell out. We got there at 11:05am, they open at 11am. Already we saw 3 people came out of the restaurant with takeout bags! We decided to dine in and even though we were early there was a lineup. It's a pay at the cash and get your own food type of restaurant. Service was super fast even though there was a lineup. Food wise the price was very good for the amount of meat you get. I wouldn't say the portions were huge but for the price it was fair. $17 for 3 items and 2 sides. My fav was the ribs it was so flavourful and juicy. My boyfriend loved the brisket. I got the fatty one and he got the non fatty and his tasted better. The cut of meat was better. The smoked turkey tasted like ham and the pull pork was so good. Will definitely come back and highly recommend!!

So great, so, so , so so great... if I could, I would eat here every day. Smoked turkey is the best I have ever had. We wanted to get it for thanksgiving but orders sold out in hours. Good sides, amazing pickled jalapeños. Inside smells amazing, there are tables and chairs but a lot of people order big orders to go. Can't go wrong here.

Well guys. It's as good as everyone says it is. Fed hill bbq sells out daily and for good reason! They offer a variety of smoked meats, like brisket, pulled pork, ribs, sausage and turkey. They also offer some delicious sides. My favorite are the Mac and cheese and potato salad but they also have coleslaw and beans. Their homemade bbq sauce is incredible. My favorite is the spicy but the mustard base one is nice on brisket. We'll probably buy a jar of the Spicy sauce when we go back. Apps wise- they have smoked stuffed jalapeños and deviled eggs. They offer homemade pickles and they even had some desert as well. Service is awesome. The people are friendly and thoughtful. If you get brisket, they'll even ask if you want fatty or lean (if they have both available). There's a parking lot next door that makes parking easier to find. There's a few tables inside and outside of the restaurant. The vibe is casual. It's a great spot to eat in or take food to go.

Great place. I'm up here for a comedy festival and was told about this place immediately. Growing up all over the south, I had to try the bbq and see how it was. The food was great. They sell out of the brisket super quick. I tried the pulled pork Mac and cheese and potato salad. Outstanding work y'all. Made me miss back home. The sauces were all great and the spicy had a nice kick but not bad. 5 stars would eat this every day if I could.

we stopped in quickly on Christmas Eve to grab a couple last minute gift cards and lunch! The line was long (per usual) but moved very fast!! We ordered a single meat plate and a brisket sandwich. The brisket is hands down their best item. I tried the mustard BBQ sauce this time around and loved how tangy it was!! I'm still a classic sweet BBQ girl, but it was definitely a nice change. This place is simple but always consistent!
